Subject: Project Missouri Tryouts, August 27th, 2017

    Good Evening,

With tryouts for our Fall Travel Teams coming soon, we thought we’d reach out about the dynamics.

We will compete at the Raleigh Lacrosse Festival (( This event follows US Lacrosse guidelines closely, and it looks like a competitive, high level event for our program. Please note that we originally planned to travel to Dallas to play on November 18th and 19th, but made a switch to the Raleigh tournament once the age groupings were released. The Raleigh event occurs on Nov. 11th and 12th.

    Setting Expectations:

Due to the age groupings, it is important to know that 7th graders will tryout with 8th graders and 5th graders will tryout with 6th graders. Parents should be clear with their kids that this is all about testing themselves versus other strong players. Status on the previous summer’s team does not guarantee a spot on the Fall Team.

    The 2017-2018 Full Year Plan

Based on feedback and observation, it has become increasingly clear that once we select the teams, we need to keep them together for the three seasons. Making the Fall Travel team means that players will also compete on our Box teams as well as our Spring SLYLA Teams. We will basically practice once a week in the fall, practice 1x and scrimmage 1x in the winter box, and practice 2x per week and play Sunday games in the Spring.

Players who are not selected, will have high level coaching in our training program and will also be able to compete in the winter box and Spring SLYLA league.

Below is our tryout schedule for Sunday, August 27. ANOTHER EMAIL WILL GO OUT WITH MORE DETAILS ON WEDNESDAY OF NEXT WEEK.
